Trigger for Development of Regional Impact review process

After speaking with Mari Daniels, Senior Planner for Alachua County's Department of Growth Management, Tom Walker sent her this e-mail:

==================================================================================
My question is--

How large an addition of commercial development in the Butler Plaza area would be required to trigger the Development of Regional Impact review process? [This question refers specifically to the development of a Butler Plaza North as proposed during the special meeting of the County Commission on 31 Jan. 2003.]

Sincerely,
Tom Walker

Subject: Re: trigger for DRI review process

Mr. Walker,

After we spoke I went to my Butler Plaza files to find specific numbers for you. I have the thresholds but am unsure at this point which numbers apply to the north property because it is outside of the Regional Activity Center designation. This is going to take some time. I would like to get an answer from DCA before I speculate. Any development in Butler Plaza north would require a binding letter of interpretation from DCA also as to whether it needs DRI review. You can be pretty sure, especially for 100,000 square feet as you mentioned, that it will.

I will get back to you when I have more.
