Other UF natural areas designated for academic use

In conjunction with the 2005-2115 update of the Campus Master Plan, a Conservation Study Committee is charged with studying 23 areas designated as conservation areas and recommending management plans for each. In some cases the management plans will include developing the area for academic uses. Those areas will eventually be added to this site.

The first area listed is a special case. It is 12 acres just west of Hawthorne that H. T. Odum donated to UF because it has a cypress dome that he wished to be used for teaching and research.

[Mark, you need to write text for here and, if you wish, for the individual thumbnails. If you have one or more pictures of the dome you would like to add, please let me have them in the large size (1280 x ca 960). Tom]
