In the background is the hammock, from which the nearest trees are to be cut to allow the road to be moved to its original placement immediately to the south.

In the left foreground is Old-field Plot D, a 10-year-rotation plot started in 1997 and now cleared of trees in preparation for a re-start during 2007.

In the right foreground is the trail between plots and Old-field Plot C, a 40-year-rotation plot started in 2000.

Just south of Plots D and C, the road (now "Main Trail") has been realigned to the south to coincide with the route of an earlier road.
