SEEP : Looking east from grid stake H2.
January 1997

During exceptional rains the retention pond, visible in the background as a sea of cattails, overflows into this area where percolation is better than in the pond bottom itself.

February 2007

The retention pond (barely visible) has been re-contoured and is no longer a sea of cattails.

In late August 1999, a six-foot alligator established a nest near here. In late May 2000, when the deepest part of SEEP had dried to a muddy puddle, the University Police Department removed the mother and six, foot-long offspring
