The portion of Plot B east of the OF nature trail was mowed 2 Jun 2009 to prepare it for re-starting in September. The standing dead trees remaining in the tree island of the plot were taken down prior to the mowing. Vine-covered piles of stacked trunks are visible at right center.
The browned grass in the left foreground of the Plot D photo is herbicide-killed Johnsongrass that had grown up around the base of the longleaf pine at gridstake G4.
