Natural Area Teaching Laboratory

Visit NATL

Experience 5 different plant communities and an extensive network of walking trails

Education. Restoration. Conservation.

Whether you're looking to take a stroll along well maintained trails, expand your knowledge about Florida ecosystems, or participate in service opportunities, NATL has something for everyone. As one of the largest conservation areas on campus, NATL is an excellent resource for faculty, students and the general public. Open every day between sunrise and sunset, three entrances allow for easy access to our nature trails and informative kiosks. Additionally, there are several bus routes that service stops close to the natural area, and ample parking which is free in the afternoons and on weekends.

Visit NATL

NATL has three entrances with parking near each entrance. A pavilion near the Academic Entrance is open to the public when not in use by UF faculty for classroom teaching. A water fountain and hose are also located next to the pavilion. Approximately six miles of well-maintained nature trials snake throughout NATL West.
